Los Angeles - The First Touch/Like A Virgin Mix

 They almost died in Mexico. Again.

If it wasn't for a hell of a lot of luck, a plan that came together, and Murdock's ability to not get everyone killed landing an enemy helicopter at base they wouldn't have been "almost".

It's not the first time that's happened... not even the first time this year. But, it's the first time since Borneo, at least.

Face wasn't shocked when Hannibal shoved a set of keys in his hand - or told him to take the weekend and get a shower and sleep in real bed before reporting back to base. They earned a little R&R. He's not even particularly shocked when Murdock climbs in the jeep with him. It's not like they've got much of anyone else to get into trouble with, and things have been pretty much all right since the incident he's "forgotten". He is, however, a little surprised at the energy vibrating the small hotel room when they walk inside.

Double occupancy, second floor next to the ice machine and overlooking the pool.

Before the door even hammers shut behind them, he's dropped his rucksack on one of the queen beds and is peeling off his dirty green t-shirt on the way to the blessed shower.

And at that moment, it's easy to close the distance between them and press their lips together. The least time they did this there was more clothing between them, but he's not complaining.

He moves back after a moment or two. "Good."

If there were clothes involved, a shirt would be wrapped tightly in his fist to facilitate a solid, properly wall slamming kiss - just to make up for that shy little peck. Instead, he lets the rapidly dwindling bar slip between his palm and Murdock's chest, leaving him to scrub his fingertips through the coarse hair.

"More like this..." he murmurs, pushing him back against the wet tile. It's not even a breath before he kisses him slow and gently, tasting the strange tang of curry and bubble gum from their lunch and somehow - cow.

No matter. It was definitely not a problem.

His tongue sweeps over Murdock's lips and across his tongue, and then he breaks away with the same sure smirk. "Much better."

His reaction is pretty much the same one he has when he successfully pulls off some kind of death-defying stunt thousands of feet in the air - YAY, LET'S DO THAT AGAIN.

"So glad you're here to show me these things."

Okay, there's also some sarcasm involved.

It's like the worst coy virgin routine... with a sarcastic-crazy twist. Cute.

"I'm sure I could show you a lot of things." His voice carries the same cock-sure tilt even as he slips his arms around Murdock's waist - turning him into the warm spray to wash away the lingering traces of livestock. "Have you ever tried backgammon?"

"You talking about the game, or do you have some weird habits I don't know about yet?"

He grins and leans in for another warm, lingering kiss.

It's easy to forget there are some people just immune to his charm... it didn't mean he wouldn't still try.

Holding back a laugh against Murdock's kiss, he lets his cheek brush against the pleasant rasp of four-day stubble to answer; "It's a long weekend, I'm sure we could make one up."

He leans into the contact.

"Sounds like fun."

He nudges him back toward the shower spray. "Wanna finish up here?"

Naked fun time is all well and good, but there's still the matter of having spent two days in a small room with cows.

He's honestly not sure if he'll have the resolve to pick back up when all is said and done - but Murdock's got a hell of a point.

With a half-shrug, Face leans close - stealing another lingering kiss as he snags both little bottles of shampoo. "Sounds like a plan..."

In a smooth motion, he slides both hands down Murdock's arms, tickling his palms before pressing one bottle into his hand. "Get clean... get dirty... ring up housekeeping for extra towels."

"Best plan ever."

He wraps his hand around Face's, holding on briefly before taking the bottle.

"Want me to do your hair?"

He knows how fussy Face is about his grooming habits, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

Now that is a laugh he can't repress. Face's grin spreads wide and he laughs out loud, shaking his head.

"No, uh... I'm pretty sure you've got enough of a mess on your hands there..."

He takes two steps back, snapping open the cap with an easy twist to finish the job.

"If you want afterward we can do matching mani-pedis and a facial."

Yeah, he's kinda just looking for an excuse to touch him some more. Not that he really needs one.

"Ooh, can we eat ice cream and gossip about boys too?"

Brats.

It wouldn't exactly be hard to push Face over that edge - cow smell or no. Not in the mood he's in.

He's quick to scrub the shampoo through his hair, lathering up a whole lot faster than he would were he not absolutely certain it wouldn't really matter what it came out looking like.

"I'm secure enough in my masculinity I could totally go for some rocky road and... uh... I've got some choice words about a corporal who shall remain nameless for the sake of a slumber party."

Oookay then. He gets a vaguely unamused look for that.

"Rocky Road's good. Cherry Garcia's better though."

... How'd they get on this subject again?

"Scoot, you're hoggin' the water."

Murdock started it. Totally.

"You realize there's not a move I haven't seen..." Or used.

He pushes closer, ducking his head into the water to wash away the suds - and maybe steal another kiss that his brain tells him is damn near forbidden.

"If you want to be close to me, just say it."

It's a strong reminder that one of them has a lot more experience with this sort of thing, but it doesn't sting as much as it might.

"Yeah, okay..."

He turns them both, reversing their positions so that he's under the showerhead.

"But I do need to shower too."

It's part of who he is... and as far as he cares to acknowledge, it's the only part he cares to deal with when he's not a soldier.

And right now, he's so not a soldier.

"We'll get there," he lets his arms lazily encircle Murdock's waist after snagging the second bar of soap, peeling it open with one hand. "Just relax."

He lets himself relax into Face's arms as the hot water washes away some of the pains and worries of the day.

This should be so much easier than it is.

"You don't have to hide from me, y'know."

Ahh, that. Feelings. Hello box.

"I don't know what you're talking about," he purrs, scrubbing over his friend's chest with practiced ease.

"This is our blowing off steam weekend, right? If we're gonna do this - we're gonna do it right."

"Yeah you do."

Now's probably not the best time to try and open that box... but he's going to anyway.

"You get so wrapped up in your cons you forget who you are underneath."

He sighs, shivering at the tender touch.

"I'm all for blowin' off steam, and if that's all you want that's okay, but you don't have to pretend."

It's a deep Pandora's box with many locks and landmines. But a peek behind the curtain is enough to leave him naked.

As it were.

"I'm just me, man." He brushes a kiss into his wet hair, "You know me."

It's a truer statement than the brushoff he wants it to be, but it makes it easier for him to concentrate on the feeling of solid flesh and soft bruises under his fingertips.

"I just thought maybe it's time we make good on whatever's been going on since Borneo."

Because that's where it started. Really.

There've been threads of attraction between them going back a long time - since the beginning, basically, in Murdock's case - but Borneo's as good a starting point as any.

"Yeah.. I know you."

He returns the kiss before ducking back under the shower for a minute.

"Now can we put all that aside and do what we came here to do?"

"I thought that was my line," he kisses lower, nipping the tip of his ear.

They're clean enough. The rest'll make it off eventually.

He reaches for the faucet, leaving one arm comfortably at Murdock's hip - turning the water off with a simple twist.

"Towel?"

There's only so much pushing of the issue he wants to do when they're naked in each other's arms. It's starting to sound like a porn movie starring Dr. Phil.

Some of the steam is already starting to dissipate as he reaches out for the hotel-provided towels. He swipes one down Face's back, reaching a little bit lower than he had previously, before handing it to him.

Oh, now that's just where he likes to be...

"Tease... cute..." he murmurs, quick to dry off before stepping out toward the door.

"You figure out which bed you want to defile first?"

He's got a whole lot of steam to blow off after that kind of mission.

"Whichever's closest."

They're pressed together now, a tangle of limbs and terrycloth, with one of the towels still trapped between them.

"... Did you just call me cute?"
