Los Angeles - The First Touch/Like A Virgin Mix

They almost died in Mexico. Again.

If it wasn't for a hell of a lot of luck, a plan that came together, and Murdock's ability to not get everyone killed landing an enemy helicopter at base they wouldn't have been "almost".

It's not the first time that's happened... not even the first time this year. But, it's the first time since Borneo, at least.

Face wasn't shocked when Hannibal shoved a set of keys in his hand - or told him to take the weekend and get a shower and sleep in real bed before reporting back to base. They earned a little R&R. He's not even particularly shocked when Murdock climbs in the jeep with him. It's not like they've got much of anyone else to get into trouble with, and things have been pretty much all right since the incident he's "forgotten". He is, however, a little surprised at the energy vibrating the small hotel room when they walk inside.

Double occupancy, second floor next to the ice machine and overlooking the pool.

Before the door even hammers shut behind them, he's dropped his rucksack on one of the queen beds and is peeling off his dirty green t-shirt on the way to the blessed shower.

It's a deep Pandora's box with many locks and landmines. But a peek behind the curtain is enough to leave him naked.

As it were.

"I'm just me, man." He brushes a kiss into his wet hair, "You know me."

It's a truer statement than the brushoff he wants it to be, but it makes it easier for him to concentrate on the feeling of solid flesh and soft bruises under his fingertips.

"I just thought maybe it's time we make good on whatever's been going on since Borneo."

Because that's where it started. Really.

There've been threads of attraction between them going back a long time - since the beginning, basically, in Murdock's case - but Borneo's as good a starting point as any.

"Yeah.. I know you."

He returns the kiss before ducking back under the shower for a minute.

"Now can we put all that aside and do what we came here to do?"

"I thought that was my line," he kisses lower, nipping the tip of his ear.

They're clean enough. The rest'll make it off eventually.

He reaches for the faucet, leaving one arm comfortably at Murdock's hip - turning the water off with a simple twist.

"Towel?"

There's only so much pushing of the issue he wants to do when they're naked in each other's arms. It's starting to sound like a porn movie starring Dr. Phil.

Some of the steam is already starting to dissipate as he reaches out for the hotel-provided towels. He swipes one down Face's back, reaching a little bit lower than he had previously, before handing it to him.

Oh, now that's just where he likes to be...

"Tease... cute..." he murmurs, quick to dry off before stepping out toward the door.

"You figure out which bed you want to defile first?"

He's got a whole lot of steam to blow off after that kind of mission.

"Whichever's closest."

They're pressed together now, a tangle of limbs and terrycloth, with one of the towels still trapped between them.

"... Did you just call me cute?"

"Maybe..." he teases, twisting to pull him down onto the bed - ensuring he's pinned beneath Murdock.

He nuzzles up against him, kissing along his jaw. "Crazy... cute... not so far apart."

He's not even sure what he's saying, but he's in the delicious zone of skin against skin and his pulse is jumping right back where it was when they were taking friendly fire on the chopper maybe an hour before.

"Dangerous."

"Mmm."

Some of that manic energy is bubbling up again. He kisses back fiercely, concentrating on the spot where shoulder meets neck.

"You're pretty cute yourself."

He's teasing, but only a little

Now that... is a magic spot. The gentle heat and wetness of lips draws out a low murmur of approval as his hands slide down damp skin to the towel covering even more.

"So I've been told..." he murmurs, dragging his fingers across Murdock's lower back. "I'll believe it from you, though."

And he means it, Murdock wouldn't lie to him - he's kinda sure Murdock has a hard time lying to anyone.

"Kiss me again, like you did in Borneo."

He laughs, mouth still pressed up against Face's skin.

"How you ever get laid with lines like that..."

But he tilts his head so their lips meet, gasping as the movement brings them even closer.

Sadly, it's not even a line... he just wants that moment back because in the sober light he kind of feels like he let a friend down.

He takes the kiss slowly, sliding his tongue along chapped lips before tasting him again - letting himself enjoy the more sensual side he'd missed before. Usually with men it wasn't like this - the few he'd been with had never been intimate, just sex. No strings, no actual concern for what they were getting out of it. It was about him. This time... not so much.

"Mmm, I mean it..." he murmurs against Murdock's lips when they break for breath; "we should have, then. You know?"

"Seem to recall you were a few sheets to the wind at the time."

Even with his brain fogged in the head of the moment, he thinks he gets it though..

"It's okay." He rests a hand on Face's chest. "We're here now."

Face grins, kissing him again. "Yes... we are..."

He lifts the towel, tugging the fabric tight between them. "And you are over dressed for the occasion..."

"Ah... right."

He slips back off the bed momentarily to get rid of the offending piece of terrycloth. It's weird, feeling this exposed, but there's no one he trusts more.

"Rock that body..." he grins, licking his lower lip with an appreciative raise of the eyebrow. He's seen it before, and now washed it... but naked is always kind of nice.

"And while you're at it, grab my red grooming kit out of my bag."

His grin stretches slightly and he shifts against the stiff hotel mattress, purposely offering a better view of himself as he gets comfortable.

Cheeky bastard. But he does as he's asked, and if he takes the opportunity to show off a little... well he can hardly be blamed for that.

"Came prepared, didn't ya?"

So to speak.

And showing off is always appreciated...

"It was a long deployment. You never know what'll happen."

He catches the bag and unzips the somewhat large makeup case, holding up several different colored squares.

"Just in case," he half-shrugs, "I'm thinking... extra sensitive?"

He knows he's being teased. Damn him and his... everything.

"Well... let's see how things go."

He settles back down on the bed, running a hand down Face's chest to rest on his stomach. In doing so, he manages to get a look at the case.

"What d'you do, buy in bulk?"

He drops a wink, sliding an 'extra-sensitive' and a neon pink on the bedside table with a bottle of water-based lube... just in case.

Assuming he gets his way.

"Just prepared," he replies as innocently as he can manage, pushing closer against the gentle touch; "gotta make sure I have the right tool for the job."

He rolls his eyes, but there's obvious affection behind it as he continues the rubbing.

"Gonna need you to take the lead here," he admits.

"Come on..." he laughs under his breath, pushing up with his elbows. "Just relax, no pressure here."

Face leans in close and brushes a soft kiss against a faded scar, then the bridge of his nose, and then against his lips in quick succession. "It's just me, remember?"

It's cool, he's been the first before - and it's sort of a thrill to know it.

"Have you ever... you know, with anyone?" It's an innocent enough question, and more than he's asked anyone before.

He nods. "Not a lot.. and not in a long time, but yeah, I have."

He leans into the kiss, letting his arm curl around Face's waist as their tongues meet.

"Just take the controls, I'll be right there with you."

He can work with that. He knows buttons like Murdock knows aircraft... intimately.

"Sure... but you're my co-pilot, okay?" He shifts his weight onto one knee, feeling the ache of a bruise just under the skin as he gracefully swings himself astride his friend's lap - pressing their foreheads together, and then gradually their bodies until Murdock's on his back - fully under him.

"Don't hold back."

It might be weird, but the co-pilot line might be one of the sweetest things he's ever heard.

"I won't."

He leans in for another deep kiss, moving his hips to get some friction going.

"Good..." he smiles against the kiss, bracing one arm against the pillows as he strokes over Murdock's chest, learning the dips and curves and whorls with practiced ease.

He's taking his time, if things want to go fast - they'll go fast, for now it's nice to enjoy the gentle rock of hips, feeling himself let go of any nagging worries about being so close to a friend.
