If it wasn't for a hell of a lot of luck, a plan that came together, and Murdock's ability to not get everyone killed landing an enemy helicopter at base they wouldn't have been "almost".

It's not the first time that's happened... not even the first time this year. But, it's the first time since Borneo, at least.

Face wasn't shocked when Hannibal shoved a set of keys in his hand - or told him to take the weekend and get a shower and sleep in real bed before reporting back to base. They earned a little R&R. He's not even particularly shocked when Murdock climbs in the jeep with him. It's not like they've got much of anyone else to get into trouble with, and things have been pretty much all right since the incident he's "forgotten". He is, however, a little surprised at the energy vibrating the small hotel room when they walk inside.

Double occupancy, second floor next to the ice machine and overlooking the pool.

Before the door even hammers shut behind them, he's dropped his rucksack on one of the queen beds and is peeling off his dirty green t-shirt on the way to the blessed shower.

He slips back off the bed momentarily to get rid of the offending piece of terrycloth. It's weird, feeling this exposed, but there's no one he trusts more.

"Rock that body..." he grins, licking his lower lip with an appreciative raise of the eyebrow. He's seen it before, and now washed it... but naked is always kind of nice.

"And while you're at it, grab my red grooming kit out of my bag."

His grin stretches slightly and he shifts against the stiff hotel mattress, purposely offering a better view of himself as he gets comfortable.

"Well... let's see how things go."

He settles back down on the bed, running a hand down Face's chest to rest on his stomach. In doing so, he manages to get a look at the case.

"What d'you do, buy in bulk?"

He drops a wink, sliding an 'extra-sensitive' and a neon pink on the bedside table with a bottle of water-based lube... just in case.

Assuming he gets his way.

"Just prepared," he replies as innocently as he can manage, pushing closer against the gentle touch; "gotta make sure I have the right tool for the job."

He rolls his eyes, but there's obvious affection behind it as he continues the rubbing.

"Gonna need you to take the lead here," he admits.

"Come on..." he laughs under his breath, pushing up with his elbows. "Just relax, no pressure here."

Face leans in close and brushes a soft kiss against a faded scar, then the bridge of his nose, and then against his lips in quick succession. "It's just me, remember?"

It's cool, he's been the first before - and it's sort of a thrill to know it.

"Have you ever... you know, with anyone?" It's an innocent enough question, and more than he's asked anyone before.

He nods. "Not a lot.. and not in a long time, but yeah, I have."

He leans into the kiss, letting his arm curl around Face's waist as their tongues meet.

"Just take the controls, I'll be right there with you."

He can work with that. He knows buttons like Murdock knows aircraft... intimately.

"Sure... but you're my co-pilot, okay?" He shifts his weight onto one knee, feeling the ache of a bruise just under the skin as he gracefully swings himself astride his friend's lap - pressing their foreheads together, and then gradually their bodies until Murdock's on his back - fully under him.

"Don't hold back."

It might be weird, but the co-pilot line might be one of the sweetest things he's ever heard.

"I won't."

He leans in for another deep kiss, moving his hips to get some friction going.

"Good..." he smiles against the kiss, bracing one arm against the pillows as he strokes over Murdock's chest, learning the dips and curves and whorls with practiced ease.

He's taking his time, if things want to go fast - they'll go fast, for now it's nice to enjoy the gentle rock of hips, feeling himself let go of any nagging worries about being so close to a friend.
