The Love Boat - Day 1

It's supposed to be an easy mission, kick back - take a cruise, maybe work on their tans in the process. Baggage, check. Engagement rings, check. Wedding bands, check. Tuxedos, check.

Hannibal and BA boarded first thing in the morning as crew, giving them more than ample time to install some weaponry and a pair of clean cell phones in their cabin and start sweeping for suspicious signs of gun running.

The happy couple took the opportunity to sleep in and have a nice breakfast before heading down to the marina to board.

"It's a nice cabin," Face murmurs, depositing his suitcase on the large bed before heading to the closet to hang up their carefully wrapped formal wear.

"Yeah?"

It's not often that he talks about his childhood, even little bits of information like that.

"Knew there was a reason I fell in love with you."

He squeezes him tight.

[notjustaface]

"Figured it was ass. Maybe my killer abs." His voice is clearly teasing, he does know better than that.

"Let me guess - you have got to be a Gonzo fan. Maybe Fozzie, but definitely Gonzo."

[notthatcrazy]

"Your ass was just a welcome bonus, darlin'."

He grins. "How'd you know?"

[notjustaface]

It feels good to laugh again, only a stifled chuckle but good no less.

"Wild guess." He murmurs, tracing down the line of his jaw to his open collar before dropping to rest on Murdock's chest comfortably.

"What about me? What's your guess?"

[notthatcrazy]

He immediately reaches up and runs his fingers through his hair again. When in doubt, pet like a kitty.

Or hell, even when not in doubt.

"Oh, tough one... you've got that 'calm under pressure' thing like Kermit."

[notjustaface]

"Ding ding ding." He grins wildly touching his finger to Murdock's nose before once more finding the soft cotton of his worn white t-shirt under the slip of rayon print.

"Give the man a fish."

It's silly, but kinda nice.

"He always held the show together no matter how crazy things got."

[notthatcrazy]

"Yeah..." He nuzzles against him happily. "You're good at that."

[notjustaface]

"You think so?" He asks, halfheartedly. He'll never really believe he's that capable, but he tries. He tries a lot.

"I bet BA likes Fozzie best."

[notthatcrazy]

"I think you don't give yourself enough credit for holding us together sometimes."

There was a reason Hannibal broke him out first.

"And Hannibal likes Statler and Waldorf."

[notjustaface]

He's just the trigger man in his mind. The guy that's not afraid to do the dirty work and try to keep a plan together with half a shoestring.

"Mmm, totally. But I bet he can dig some Animal too. We've all got a little bit of that guy in us."

[notthatcrazy]

Maybe so, but that means a lot.

"Oh yeah. And Rowlf the dog."

[notjustaface]

"Too serious for my tastes, but a dog playing piano was pretty cool."

He laughs again, slowly feeling his body unwinding like a cat's.

"Kermit knew how to cut loose. Relax with his friends."

[notthatcrazy]

"Yeah."

He muffles a laugh against his shoulder.

"What about Miss Piggy? She was one feisty hog."

[notjustaface]

"My kind of lady," he purrs. "Kermit's got great taste, you know... if I was puppet, I'd be all over that."

You're welcome for that mental image, Murdock.

[notthatcrazy]

He makes a face. "This conversation's gettin' weird, even for us."

[notjustaface]

It's not entirely uncomfortable, not by a long shot.

"Hey... if I recall there have been several rather intimate moments between us that almost involved a special friend." He brushes a kiss against Murdock's ear. "I think I'm allowed to make puppet sex jokes - at least it had nothing to do with pork."

[notthatcrazy]

He groans at the terrible joke.

"Templeton Peck, are you questioning the honor of my sock puppets?"

[notjustaface]

"I don't think any questions are needed there..." he purrs, scritching his fingers on Murdock's chest - feeling the familiar rasp of chest hair through the cotton.

"They're just as naughty as their dads."

[notthatcrazy]

He's almost purring himself at the touches.

"You are the best bad influence ever."

[notjustaface]

"I'll take that as a compliment."

He's close to calling it a night - letting himself keep pushing the destruct-o sequence of buttons that opens Murdock's pants every time (he's got it down to an art, really) but the lure of the job still calls.

If he can get the girls occupied long enough to get into their room...

[notthatcrazy]

"Good, that's how I meant it."

He sighs, feeling the subtle change in his body language that's only noticeable when they're wrapped up in each other like they are.

"Duty calls, huh?"

[notjustaface]

He sighs, burying his face a moment longer against Murdock's shoulder - just letting himself have that moment before admitting; "We should probably get dressed up and head down to the cocktail party. I think if you can keep our new friend busy I can probably break into her room no problem."

He can't help it, he knows that Murdock really just wanted to not be thinking about work, but it's just what he knows.

As much as he wishes they could just be happy soon-to-be-newlyweds... well, they are here on business.

"Yeah, I think I can do that."

[notjustaface]

"I know you can." His scritching slows to a gentle press against his chest, and then a firm pat.

"You're amazing, you know that?"

[notthatcrazy]

He kisses him, almost gently.

"So are you."

And maybe that's what love is for them... that kind of absolute faith in each other.
