Downtime was a blessing, and after being laid up and then a couple hard jobs in India, Face was glad to get back on American soil. At least there he could count on a few familiar things in and around the fleabag motel where they were holed up for the next few days until the boss was able to drum up another job to do.

Fast food, a decent burger, a movie theater a couple blocks away... hell, even the shady looking 'adult novelty' store next to the carryout piqued his curiosity.

At least that's what he tells himself when he on their late-night walk he drags Murdock inside. Hey, even their amazing sex life could use a pair of fuzzy handcuffs.

"Don't touch anything," he cautions before flashing a smile at the bored clerk behind the counter stickering DVDs, knowing full and well he won't be heeded.

He chuckles softly, returning the gentle squeeze with an enigmatic smile as he laces their fingers together.

"Ooh, they got the flavored lube."

... He gets excited about strange things sometimes.

"Uh-uh... no way am I putting something banana flavored on my dick..."

He rolls his eyes; "Besides, usually you're not gonna be tasting much of anything when that's being used."

He wrinkles his nose, giving his partner an amused look.

"You know, of all the things we could be tryin', I never thought you'd draw the line at lube."

Artificial banana flavor really is kind of gross though.

"I prefer the taste of raw..." he teases, his lips spreading in a wild grin; "...natural, organic cock."

He can't help but laugh, amused with himself more than anything.

Rolling his eyes, he concedes; "One small bottle and it goes in your mouth."

He rolls his eyes, not bothering to try to quiet his laugh.

"You are terrible."

In the sense that 'terrible' means 'completely ridiculous and I adore you.'

"Deal."

He's well aware of that definition - and that the fact that he's being ridiculous at all is a sure sign Murdock's wearing off on him.

"And... I get to use the vibrator on you when we get back to the hotel."

He didn't shake yet, it's not a done deal and if he can push for more he will.

He's quite proud of that.

"Hmm." He pretends to consider it, even though they both know it's basically a given. "I think that's fair."

His smirk stretches slightly, a spark of mischief in his eyes.

"Deal," he murmurs, leaning close to brush a kiss against his lips. "Don't forget the usual stuff."

"Gotcha."

Grabbing a bottle of their usual brand, he surveys the selection of personal lubricants, leaning towards Face with a wide grin.

"You wanna pick the flavor?"

A little more interested in the back of the bottle of warming strawberry lube, Face raises an eyebrow and rolls his eyes.

"Not my mouth... I'll let you handle that one." After a moment, he leans back against him and half-shrugs; "But I'd probably pick chocolate... I know the body paint tastes okay."

Now that actually does sound pretty good to him.

"I love that you know what I like."

He wraps his arms around him, completely lacking in self-consciousness as the lean against each other.

"Body paint, huh?"

"I know you..." he grins, daring enough to brush a kiss against his cheek - after all they were likely marked as a couple the second they walked in.

"Yeah man, body paint... you know... naked finger painting for grown ups."

They are kind of obvious, especially now that it's not vital to keep things under wraps.

"I know what it is." He rolls his eyes fondly.

"Can we try it?"

They're safe - for the moment.

Another half shrug and Face answers; "Sure... could be fun."

He's enjoyed it in the past, but he's not exactly going to admit that when it could very well lead down a road he's not really interested in following.

"Anything you want, babe."

Their selections made (including a bottle of the strawberry lube), he doesn't let go of Face's hand while they check out.

"Can't wait to get you home," he murmurs, ignoring the clerk who looks like he's ignoring him in return.

"It's not far..." He grins wide, brushing a kiss in his curls as he hands over the cash. Home is such a transitory thing, it's wherever their stuff is for the next however long until it's moved again.

Home is where Murdock is.

It's just a short few blocks back under the cover of darkness to the shady no-tell mo-tell where they're camped out in their own room.

He barely has time to close and lock the door after them before Murdock's wrapping his arms around him and kissing him until he has to stop to breathe.

"Home," he sighs happily, pulling him towards the bed.

Anxious he can handle - especially with a low boil arousal in the possibilities they held in a brown paper sack in his hand.

"Love you..." he murmurs, tossing the bag onto the bed and shucking off his jacket and shoes before they hit the mattress. "Crazy fool..."

He stretches out next to him, enjoying just being together before the main event gets going. They've got time, relative privacy and nowhere in particular to be.

He sticks his tongue out at him before leaning in to kiss him on the nose. "Love you too. Brat."

"Brat?" He grins, returning the teasing kiss with a much more passionate one against Murdock's smiling lips; "I think I can handle that."

He drags his fingers over the front of Murdock's shirt, tugging up the hem to find the soft curls of hair on his belly and tickles him playfully.

He squirms, giggling as he reaches under Face's shirt to rest his hands on his chest.

"You're not ticklish. No fair."

"Mmm, but you are touchable..." he scratches a little harder to lessen the tickle before brushing a kiss against his cheek and then his nose. "Totally fair."

All's fair in love and war, right? Something like that at least.

"Besides, I'm sure you'll find my secret ticklish spot when you're painting me."

"You play dirty."

He grins. He's not complaining.

"Challenge accepted."

He runs his hands down Face's back, sneaking his fingertips under his waistband to graze his ass.

"And you love it when I do..." he murmurs against that grin, more than happy to not play fair.

The touch elicits and eager groan and he pushes back against Murdock's fingertips; "You're gonna make me beg, aren't you?"

"Mmhmm.. guilty as charged."

He dips his hands a bit lower, squeezing hard enough to leave a mark.
