Alone Time

Alone time is rare at best, and as he clutches the co-pilot's seat of the salvaged Cessna - only a little nervous each time Murdock tries a trick - the fact that they're getting almost a whole day to themselves is more or less the best thing on his mind. They're on a job, of course - they're coming more frequently over the last few months and while the pay seems to be lower at least it's keeping them moving since their close call back in Chicago - but he'll take what he can get.

Even if what he can get is spending the night together in a lean-to in the backwoods of southern Oregon with a few sleeping bags and a cooler while they wait for the boss' call to pick up the other half of the team in northern California. It's still nice to have a little downtime.

It's a step he may never be fully ready for, but it'll come. Eventually.

He deepens the kiss, tasting the in-flight Cheetos and Coke on his tongue as his brain digs for anything that might make the moment a little less awkward.

When he breaks away with a soft sigh, he says; "It's okay..." He nuzzles against Murdock's cheek; "I love you."

"I know."

He sighs, content to settle in his arms for the foreseeable future.

"You know how much I love you, right?"

"You make it pretty obvious, man." He teases; "I'm pretty sure everyone knows. And you know... that's okay."

His palm slides down to linger on Murdock's side, purposefully tracing right over his most ticklish spot.

He holds back a giggle at the tickling, running a hand down his side to retaliate.

"Is it?"

Face, however, remains undaunted in the face of tickling.

And half-shrugs, pressing a kiss to his chin. "Sure, why not?"

That only makes him tickle harder.

"Guess I've just gotten used to hiding it."

[notjustaface]

His grin spreads slightly, and he's not about to suggest that he's hiding it about as well as a facial birthmark, so Face only leans against him to divert the tickle and slides his hand to rest on Murdock's hip.

"You gotta do what you gotta do, right?"

"Haven't gotten us in trouble yet."

The little diversion causes his hand to rest directly on Face's ass. Funny how that happens.

"You won't." He inhales deeper, letting out an appreciative groan at the more intimate touch.

"I get myself in enough trouble all on my own, right?"

[notthatcrazy]

"Mmm. You have a singular talent for it."

He leans in for a warm kiss, twining their legs together.

The chill's still lingering, but he does enjoy the press of skin against skin and rubs his bare feet against Murdock's shins, deepening the kiss.

"It's more fun talking my way out of it."

[notthatcrazy]

"Mmmhmm. You and that silver tongue of yours."

He doesn't just have fun talking, but he's not going near that topic at the moment.

Of course, he doesn't mind going there...

"Mmm, you like my tongue." He illustrates with a slow lick over the edge of his jaw.

"I like more than that..." He grins, stroking lazy circles on his hip.

"And you're all mine."

[notjustaface]

"And I have until tomorrow morning to remind you of all the things you like."

He trails his tongue lower, down the curve of his chin to his throat before nipping playfully.

His hand, still stroking, stops to smack him playfully.

"I think 'like' isn't a strong enough word."

He ruffles Face's hair again, burying a hand in soft curls that are still a bit damp.

Face's soft cry is far from one of pain, and the rock of his hips against Murdock's thigh are an obvious indicator of such.

"Mmm, I was being kind..." He murmurs, nibbling his way from the hollow of his throat all the way to his ear. "I'm sure I could think of a few things to do with said tongue."

"I'm sure you could."

He sighs softly, letting himself get lost in the pleasure of being with his man and not having to keep his guard up for a while.

"You're smart that way."

[notjustaface]

Smart, devious, they're not so different really.

Kissing and teasing his tongue along the ridge of his lover's ear, he says softly; "I'm sure I could teach you a few new tricks after we warm up a bit."

"Shh," he murmurs, still tugging gently at his hair. "Take your time, sweetheart, we've got all day."

The sweet whispers and affectionate nicknames are meant to slow him down and let him know that he's happy with things as they are. Not that he really expects it to get through, though he knows he'd stop if he really wanted him to.

He has learned a thing or two, and definitely catches the hint. Murdock's not some mark he's working over - they've got time... Maybe even a lifetime.

So he lets his palm linger on Murdock's hip - enjoys the slow rhythmic breathing as their body temperatures slowly even out.

"You know what you do to me..." He smiles, lifting back up to kiss his lips.

At least a lifetime, if he has anything to say about it.

"Mmmhmm." He smiles softly at the lingering touch. "Now that we finally got some time together."

For a while, he can let himself believe that they won't always be on the run, living from day to day and grasping for moments with each other whenever they can get them.

"Finally..." he sighs. The stretches of time apart from the group are few and far between - and rarely for more than enough time for a quickie and snuggle before they're once more back in the action.

"It's nice."

[notthatcrazy]

"mmhmm."

He plans to enjoy every minute of it.

"You know what I wanna do?"

[notjustaface]

Almost hopeful, but mostly teasing, he answers; "That thing with your tongue?"

He squeezes Murdock's hip again, quick to jump back in with; "Kidding! Kidding... what'd you want to do, babe?"
