Built A Better Bear (For Love!)

He's been trying, and he knows Murdock has been trying too, but the longer the rift between them continues the more Face feels like it'll never end.

The idea had come to him watching Murdock fret over a small pile of stuffed animals at a thrift store - again - coming back empty handed when none of them "fit" with his current plush posse. Something special, something they could do together where there was no pressure to be romantic, but Murdock would know that he meant it as a genuine gesture.

Which is exactly what had led him to The Build-A-Bear workshop on a Saturday morning when it was overrun with children and exasperated parents with Murdock staring out the windshield as they pulled in.

"Surprise?" He smiles softly, looking at him from the driver's seat as he nervously taps his rings against the steering wheel - still getting used to the weight of wearing them again, if nothing as a reminder to himself.

He looks down as a smirk appears on his face.

"I can tell."

He pulls him close for another kiss.

"Yeah... Don't mind that..." He says, taking Murdock's hand and purposefully guiding it to the stretched cotton where he's already mostly hard. "He likes you, remember?"

Not that it's ever been particularly hard to get him aroused.

He presses gently but firmly as Face guides his hand.

"Aw, somebody missed me."

Awesome he can handle. However, the steady tease of Murdock's hand on him is driving him up the wall.

"Missed you a lot..." He groans; "Couple months on lockdown for not using the big head'll do that."

He brushes another kiss to Murdock's temple; "He doesn't know he's getting off easy."

"It's true, you are easy to get off." He revels in the playful banter that's been missing from their interactions for so long as he strokes him though the thin stretched fabric of his briefs.

"Think he's ready to come out and play."

An undignified whimper closes his throat and he manages a dopey "yeah..."while struggling out of his underpants.

It's not exactly his A game... Hell, it's not even the B game.

"God yes... Anything you want, and I mean anything."

They've pretty much seen each other at their worst. They can deal with a little awkwardness in bed.

"Hmm," he considers, slipping out of his own shorts until their rings are all they're wearing. "I'll have to think about that. But I am open to suggestions."

Face finds his hand again, squeezing tight as he presses against him - giving them a moment to cool off and just exist naked together. Warm. Comfortable - everything he's missed out on because he fucked up. It's a reminder of what he could have lost, and he knows he needs them from time to time.

"It's all you baby..." he laughs, nosing at Murdock's cheek with a smile that radiates nothing but love. "I want everything. All of you."

"Mmm. And if I want you spooning me... showin' me how much you love bein' with me..."

His hand finds Face's hip, rubbing gently as he nuzzles against him.

"I can't promise certain things won't get in the way..." he murmurs, letting out a low groan with the simple contact.

"But I did say anything."

"We'll see how it goes," he murmurs as he pulls him close for a kiss.

Kissing is always good and always welcome, even when it's not the requested spooning.

He lets himself be gentle, for his benefit as much as Murdock's, pressing several soft kisses on his lips before parting his lips with his tongue and groaning against his mouth.

"I love you." It's so easy to say right now, when they're close and alone nothing else could possibly matter. Even if shiny dark bear eyes are watching them from the nightstand.

The poor bears are getting quite the initiation into the plush tribe. After a few minutes of exploring his partner's mouth, he turns onto his side, snuggling back against him.

"Love you too. And I ain't gonna leave you, no matter what."

Somehow it's easier to say these things when they're not facing each other.

"No matter how much bad happens, you're worth it."

Please, just for a second, let him believe that for once.

Fitting his body against Murdock's back, relishing the sensation of skin against skin as he drags his cock against the cleft of his ass, Face lets out a soft sigh that may have once been a lusty growl.

And that soft murmur of approval is all it takes for him to gently rock his hips back against him with a much more perverse intent than before, squeezing his hand tighter.

"I trust you..." he whispers; "...with everything."

And it's something he couldn't have said even a year ago, not until he watched Murdock break - until he knew exactly what he was dealing with on a very real and present level. He couldn't have said it until he knew Murdock would forgive him, even if he couldn't forgive himself.

"Everything." He reiterates even more firmly, turning his finger to shift his rings against Murdock's knuckles.

Perverse intent is pretty much welcome at this point.

"I know you do."

He squeezes his hand, briefly catching sight of the matching Ranger ink on their arms, a vivid reminder of the bonds that keep them hanging on to each other.

It's a bitter reminder of what they once were and always will be.

Sliding their joined hands down and across Murdock's hip, he stops just short of his pelvis and squeezes him tight.

"God I want you so bad..." He groans, digging against him again, building on the excitement. "I would have done horrible things at the theater if you'd let me."

"Yeah, you would."

Not that the intent isn't appreciated, but the last thing they need at this point is getting busted for public indecency.

"Well... we're alone now."

Mostly. The bears are still watching.

"We are." He purrs against his neck, kissing the warm skin.

"I'm just trying not to embarrass myself," he chuckles under his breath before rocking his hips again, spreading a little early arousal between his thighs.

He's missed the emotional closeness just as much as the physical, if not more. He leans back, feeling the press of his lover's body against his.

"Don't have to worry about that, baby."

When Face laughs, it's ragged and somewhat ashamed. He admits; "If you touched me right now I'd go off like a damn bottle rocket."

Burying a much more nervous laugh in another gentle kiss to his partner's neck, he adds; "That's pretty embarrassing for me."

"Yeah, well... we got plenty of time to work on your stamina."

He squeezes his hand a bit tighter.

"Now you're just teasing me..." He grins wider, sucking the flesh under his lips in a vain attempt to feel he's not the only one feeling more than cuddly.

But, if cuddly is what Murdock wants, it's what he'll get.

Well it's not all he wants. But like he said... they have time.
