Playing House: Moving In

It's not the best digs they've had, it's a small one-bedroom apartment in the middle of Montreal, but compared to where they've been staying it may as well be the Vegas Hilton. But, it's theirs.

For a whole month, it belongs to them to come and go as they please and make a life for themselves. A life that Face hopes might just be enough to convince Hannibal that running maybe isn't the best idea.

After a day of shopping every thrift shop and half the department stores in town, they managed to pull together some basic living necessities that Face was taking great care to bring up from the curb while Murdock put it all away.

"Last box, baby..." he says with a wide smirk, locking the door behind them. "This is real."

"Oh, it's been brought..." He laughs again, letting his hands linger a moment on Murdock's belt before tugging open the buckle.

Making a slow run for the stairs - he's not exactly trying to win.

They're more or less together as they make their way up the stairs.

"Think we can call that one a draw," he says, grinning.

[notjustaface]

"A draw? No way man... I won by at least a foot!"

It's cool outside, and the city's busy beneath them with just enough sunshine to make his skin warm.

"Okay, okay... you're the winner."

He stretches, reaching his hands toward the sky that seems so much closer from up here.

"Nice day."

[notjustaface]

He's always the winner, at least in his own mind.

Watching with warm amusement, he murmurs; "Beautiful."

Sometimes he just can't help himself - not when he's riding high as he is.

"I love this man!" He shouts, quite literally from the rooftop. "And he is all mine."

"And he's mine," he yells back, startling a passing pigeon as he tackles him and hugs him tight.

It's really just a joy to see him so happy.

Happiness is so fleeting - holding on to it is a beautiful thing.

"All yours, baby..." his voice drops to a low purr and he presses a kiss to Murdock's jaw, holding close.

"All yours."

[notthatcrazy]

"Mmm, I know. And we got a whole month to show each other."

He holds him quietly for a few minutes, the city noise the only thing between them.

"Love you, babe."

Just being there is a big show, not the roof - not really - but being together, in a place. Their place. He's never had a place of his own before... let alone a place with someone else.

"Our place..." he groans, kissing him again. "We have a place."

"Yeah we do," he agrees. He can't remember the last time he's seen him look this happy, and somehow the next month spreading out before them doesn't seem nearly long enough.

"We're home, baby."

[notjustaface]

Finding both fists buried under Murdock's shirt - clutching him as tight as he can - Face kisses him again.

"We're really doing this," he sighs tenderly; "we're home."

On the roof no less...

"God... Take your pants off."

[notthatcrazy]

"What, here?"

He smiles against Face's mouth as he rests his palms on his bare chest, spreading his fingers to feel the warm skin beneath.

"Someone's getting frisky..."

[notjustaface]

The touch is distracting him from the moment of blissful crazy, he enjoys the simple things much more than he'd admit.

"Getting?" He murmurs against Murdock's ear, kissing the tender skin. "I've been ready to jump you since IKEA."

"Right, I forgot frisky's your default state."

He gives him a slightly wicked look as he leans in to nip at his collarbone.

"You really wanna do this here, or should we go back downstairs and christen the futon?"

[notjustaface]

It's sort of true... though lately exhaustion has been getting the better of his libido.

"Mmm... we haven't done a weight test yet..."

[notthatcrazy]

"Mmhmm... nothin' like a trial by fire."

Or, y'know... sex.

[notjustaface]

Now who's pushing whose buttons?

Letting out a soft groan, both hands found Murdock's jeans - pushing just inside the waistband of his boxers.

"You drive a hard bargain..." he sighs, looking around the warm afternoon. "But we leave the windows open to scare our neighbors?"

"Mmm, that's not the only thing that's hard."

It's all Face's fault. He brings out this side of him.

"Deal."

[notjustaface]

"Race you back down?" He cocks an eyebrow, not entirely quick to let go of his hold on his partner.

[notthatcrazy]

"You're on."

He kisses him softly before heading for the stairs.

"But no head starts!"

[notjustaface]

"You've already got a head start on me, babe..." He growls playfully, sprinting toward the open door.

There'll be time for the roof. There'll be a whole month to do anything they can anywhere they can.

[notthatcrazy]

"Maybe I'll let you win again," he laughs as Face catches up to him outside their door.

[notjustaface]

"Let me win?" He asks, pressing tight against Murdock's back as he opens the door - pushing him inside.

"What's the prize?"

[notthatcrazy]

"It's a surprise," he grins, tugging at Face's waistband. "Why don't you unwrap it and find out?"

[notjustaface]

"Mmm, still keeping big packages in your pants?" He chuckles into a groan, kissing him again before tugging hard at Murdock's jeans to pop open the button.
